Inner Peace

What is the greatest commodity that we need to function in our crazy lives?

Is it money? Is it power?  Is it job security? Is it the “perfect” mate?

No.  None of these things will give you the commodity that only comes from one place. That commodity is “Peace”.

Peace in the heart and mind.  And only God provides it.  Peace that comes from external sources, like when things are working out, or when you think there’s enough money, or any other external thing… they all pass. They are all temporary.  People, money, things and circumstances all change and are gone eventually.  Then what?

God offers peace that isn’t subject to any of those things.  It doesn’t mean that we never are upset, or worried, or in a trance like state of peace all the time.  But there is a settledness inside that is not subject to external circumstances.

Philippians 4
6-7 Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when God displaces worry at the center of your life.
