As a Man Thinks…

Taking thoughts captive. One of the most important truths ever. SO important that God says too take EVERY THOUGHT captive. Not some of them, or almost all of them, but every one of them.


Because if you don’t, they will take YOU captive, and tell you all sorts of things about yourself, the world, other people, you name it. You cannot possibly navigate your life in victory without taking your thoughts captive.

The Truth will make you free… but not just agreeing with the Truth. Aligning your life, your thoughts and heart with the Truth will make you free… free to BE, free to BECOME who you really are designed to be. Only here will you discover your why and your purpose. Ground Zero to the heart. The core of who you are is formed and shaped in your thoughts. That’s why we are also taught, Romans 12:2 ” Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Yesterday I brought attention to the role that psychology plays in our type of counseling… this is one of the areas that we integrate the original form of Cognitive Therapy… REBT into our counseling model when appropriate. It is essentially a clinical approach to taking your thoughts captive.
