So really… what’s the point? Is there a point to all the things we find ourselves doing on the earth besides making money, buying things, enjoying things, not enjoying things, etc.
What gives life a point, is knowing your purpose. Your purpose is innate. It’s your spiritual DNA. It’s the part of you that was created, not learned, or layered over top of your outer personality. Many of us, because we haven’t invested in discovering that purpose, wind up “searching” for “what I am supposed to DO with my life.” This is a trap. What you DO should generate out of who you ARE.
What can get in the way of this discovery of purpose, is the root systems in our lives that connect to past hurts, pain, rejection, judgements, etc. These are the things that can derail us from discovering our purpose, because they cloud who we are. And if we don’t know who we are, it will be difficult to become all we are destined to become.
However if we effectively deal with the brokenness of our lives in these areas… pull them out by the roots, we are free to begin to function in the outer areas… vision, passion, values, giftings, talents and more. They begin to flow as they are there to operate within our purpose. When the process is reversed, we are unfulfilled, undefined, and many times doing things just because I can or I just “don’t know what to do with my life”.
Jeremiah 29 – The Message
“I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
